What is Pregelatinized Starch
Compared with Native starch, Pregelatinised Starch has improved functionality, including flowability, compressibility, and cold water solubility.
Pregelatinized Starch is Starch that has been mechanically processed and subsequently dried. Starch gelatinization is a process of breaking down the intermolecular bonds of starch molecules in the presence of water and heat, we called it hydrothermal modification of native starch, allowing the hydrogen bonding sites (the hydroxyl hydrogen and oxygen) to engage more water, water acts as a plasticizer, this irreversibly dissolves the starch granule in water. The pre-gelatinization process provides the ability to form cold gel for native or modified starches.
Small step, big difference
The source of starch may be maize, tapioca, potato, wheat starches or blends. Compared with Native starch, pregelatinised Starch has improved functionality, including flowability, compressibility, and cold water solubility. Thus, these starches provide products with viscosity without the need for cooking or high temperatures, which means that the users does not need to precook the starch. It is available as a white, odourless and tasteless, moderately fine powder.
Advantage of Prestar
Fast Thickening Effect
We producing very fine particles with uniform particle size distribution, the product dissolve fast and give a fast thickening effect.
Small Dosage, Big difference.
Prestar is very efficient, only small dosage will bring a big change of the formulation. Gives efficient thickening effects.
Prestar is a multi-functional product, and with our special treatment it is feasible for different applications.
